| Anarchists firebomb Greek bank |

| A group of some 30 youths, believed to be from anarchist groups, hurled gasoline bombs at a branch of the National Bank of Greece in central Athens Tuesday, causing damage but wounding no one, police said. The youths, dressed in black, escaped arrest and the fire was put out. Arson attacks by anarchists are common in the Greek capital and have spiked since student riots broke out in France over plans to scrap job-protection laws. |

| #6 Greek anarchists have been pulling stunts like this for decades, at least. There seems to be a, "Boys will be boys," attitude about their little pranks -- at least the Greek police never seem to have looked very hard to find the perpetrators or prevent their activities. Of a piece with European attitudes toward terrorist behaviour until very recently, in fact. |
