Joint al-Qaeda, Taliban video released
2006-06-01
The al-Qaeda production organization, as-Sahab, issued yesterday, May 30, 2006, a 3:28 minute video in the series of the “Pyre for Americans in Kharasan [Afghanistan],” featuring a joint operation from March 2006 by the mujahideen of the Taliban and al-Qaeda in Afghanistan on American forces at an airport in Khost. Seen in the video are mujahideen traveling to the site of the rocket launching, one man holding a GPS device, in a vehicle loaded with rocket units. They are then seen walking along mountainous terrain and measuring the angle and trajectory of the rocket at night. This is followed by its launching.

For the attack on Khost airport, used by American forces in the Afghan province of Bektika, a man in the video holding the GPS device states: “Thank God we have in the jihad places the apparatus of GPS. It is very accurate in finding out the distances and the direction of the enemy and we were launching rockets at Khost airport and it was very accurate.”
