Boxer wants troops pulled in 6 months
2006-06-01
U.S. troops should be withdrawn from Iraq in no more than six months, and the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.'s children should be dispatched as U.S. emissaries to war-torn Sudan, U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer said Tuesday.
Boxer, D-Calif., also said she believes Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., should have paid for boxing tickets he accepted free from the Nevada Athletic Commission as it tried to influence his legislation on federal regulation of the sport.

Boxer — in a news conference on her Iraq and Darfur initiatives at the Golden Gate Bridge Toll Plaza administration building — said she does not believe Reid's acceptance of free ringside tickets rises to the level of corruption seen among certain Republican lawmakers in recent months, but it could have created an appearance of impropriety.

"If I were him I would just write a check" for the tickets, she said, adding she has done the same when receiving gifts that otherwise might seem aimed at winning her legislative support. "I don't want anyone to think it might."

#25  "The Bozone is defined as the space surrounding a stupid person, more like a force-field, through which no intelligent thought can either enter or leave."

And if you get enough of them friggin' dimbulbs all together in the same place at the same time it causes the space-time continuum to distort into an aberration called the bozosphere. The bozosphere is plagued by a dense flux of lightweight, witless subatomic particles called bozons, though there's plenty of morons as well.

Every now and then a bozon or moron will escape the force field of the bozosphere and show up here in Rantburg, where they become Chew Toys.

#24  I could never figure it out. But if you think she's bad, you should watch the state legislature. Their moonbat bench is very deep.

#23  What the hell is wrong with California that they send idiots like this to the Senate - repeatedly!

#22  The really crazy thing though is that somewhere out there somebody is hitting that.

That's the great thing about capitalism; somebody can be found to do every job. At a price.

#21  Oooh, I can bumpersticker that one. Try "If stupidity had mass Barbara Boxer would be a black hole." Still pretty long but it gets closer.

#20  If any of you had the fortune to catch her on CSPAN2 - she was on the senate committee that questioned the FDC on high oil prices and gouging - it was a hoot. I've never seen such an argumentative and unprofessional display of peacocking in all my life. Up to then I had only heard of her idiocies by secondhand accounts - it was a real eye opener to see it on national t.v.
At the end of the session the president of the committee (the name escapes me - some old Repub senator from Alaska) had to tell her to shut up because she kept badgering the FDC reps w/redundancies and plus she was over her time limit.

The really crazy thing though is that somewhere out there somebody is hitting that.

#11  Yeah. That worked so well in Vietnam. The Donks are trying very, very, hard to make Iraq into another Vietnam.

Of course she knows full well what will happen after we pull out. Just as Kerry, Cronkite, and the others probably knew full well what would happen to people if we pulled out of Vietnam.

Same stinky shit - different day.

Has this dimwitted bitch given ANY thought whatsoever to the consequences of the actions she proposes? I can't imagine a better way to convince the entire world that Osama bin Laden was absolutely right about us: that we are weak, fickle, frivolous, have no stomach for a long fight, and if you merely harrass us enough for long enough, we WILL eventually talk ourselves into giving up and going home.

Damn idiot liberals... crap like this makes me wonder, in all seriousness, whether we have any hope of winning this war so long as these assholes are allowed to run around loose.

#3  The Republicans have shown they will govern badly, and yet they will likely retain their majority because the Democrats take every opportunity to demonstrate they have no idea how to govern at all.
