TOBA TEK SINGH: A Christian youth was allegedly killed in police custody in City Police Station as a result of torture on Thursday. Relatives of deceased, Arshad Maseeh of Mubarikabad Colony, said that the police arrested Arshad on charges of kidnapping a girl and during investigation he was badly tortured. Later on Friday, Arshad's relatives took the body to the court of district and sessions judge who ordered an autopsy by a medical board from the district headquarters hospital. A Health Department official said that the report would reach after three days from Lahore where they had sent samples for examination. When contacted, Aslam Shankar, the deputy superintendent of police (DSP), he claimed that allegations of torture was wrong as the accused was summoned in police station in the kidnapping case for an interrogation. He said that Arshad had some stomach problem so he was allowed to go after two hours, adding that no torture mark was found on Arshad's body.
