Two gunnies banged, seven people injured in Indian-held Kashmir

(KUNA) -- At least two gunmen have been killed in separate encounters in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir. An unidentified gunman was killed in an encounter with the Indian security forces in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir Friday morning, news agency Press Trust of India reported. The encounter began Friday morning when terrorists hiding in a house in Khrew area in Pulwama district fired at the security forces, who cordoned off the area and killed him during the gun battle.

Another gunman was killed at Machoo in Budgam district in Jammu and Kashmir Thursday night, the news agency reported. One AK rifle, two magazines and a few rounds were recovered.

Meanwhile in another incident, seven people including three security personnel were injured Friday when gunmen lobbed a grenade near a bus stand in the main town of Doda in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir. The explosion injured four civilians and three security personnel, the news agency reported. The injured were rushed to district hospital at Doda. Police officials have rushed to the spot and launched a search operation to nab the culprits.
