Al-Aksa claims biological-chemical capabilities
2006-06-25
The Aksa Martyrs' Brigades group announced on Sunday that it its members have succeeded in manufacturing chemical and biological weapons to be used against Israel.

In a leaflet distributed in the Gaza Strip, the group, which belongs to Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah party, said the weapons were the result of an effort that has lasted for three years.

The statment was a response to an Israeli Security Cabinet decision to give the IDF the green light to prepare all the forces necessary for a military operation against Gaza terror cells. As of 9:00 p.m. large amounts of Golani and Givati Brigade infantry troops were amassing on the Israeli side of the Gaza security fence.

According to the statement, the first of its kind, the group managed to manufacture and develop at least 20 different types of biological and chemical weapons.

The group said its members would not hesitate to add the new weapons to long-range rockets that are being fired at Israeli communities almost every day. It also threatened to use the weapons against IDF soldiers if Israel carried out its threats to invade the Gaza Strip.

"We want to tell [Prime Minister Ehud] Olmert and [Defense Minister Amir] Peretz that your threats don't frighten us," the leaflet said. "We will surprise you with our new weapons the moment the first soldier sets his foot in the Gaza Strip."

#14  About 2 years ago, the IDF admitted that caustic chemicals were used in some suicide bomb attacks. The earlier coverup served to prevent alarm while the counter-terror wall was being constructed.

Keep one thing in mind: Gaza based rockets have come close to critical Israeli power plants, which use deadly ammonia compounds. Israeli bloggers claim that, if Israel faces massive losses of human life in a plant catastrophe, then prior to re-building, they will neutralize the enemy. And that means use of WMDs. I would support that type of reaction, given the savage nature of the enemy. Lifeboat ethics force survival tactics.

#13  I'm praying for some "work accidents."

#12  Great, submunitions with Bio/chem elements. Even more dangerous than home made bombs.

#11  they probably have a regular cluster bomb with some chem or bio agents in it

work accidents could be more deadly than normal in Gaza the next few months

#10  By claiming they have these weapons, it'll make it harder for them to blame the Joooos when they resort to using them. But if they do use them, they will. And the phrench, the galloway/livingston-brits and all of berkley will believe them.

#9  Probably just got their latest shipment of rat poison. Pretty scary bunch.

If they ever do get their mitts on any WMD, you know they'd end up killing more of themselves than anyone else - assuming the Russians didn't provide someone to handle it, of course.

But just one death from a chemical or bio weapon - and it's lights out. Ain't no coming back from that.

#8  If Al-Aksa Martyrs' Brigades had Bio-Chem weapons they would use them. Not horde them for a rainy day. They are full of shit.

#7  Maybe the Gazans ought to ask their Syrian sponsors to remind them what 'Hama rules' are, and then they ought to question whether a WMD-attacked Israel is likely to apply those 'rules' to Gaza. Or maybe their education leans more towards the classics than modern events - they should look into how their ancestors, the Phoenicians, fared at the hands of the Romans in Carthage.

#6  So ye want to be a martyr, ys say? Ya want to have the IDF take off its gloves, ya say? Keep it up, morons.

If Israel had kept it's get tough policy and not fell into Peres' liberal policies, they would not have to put up with the suicide bombings and all this other nonsense. Even the Paleos will respect massive, concentrated, overwhelming power, as stupid as they are.

#5  Hmmmmm...are they really that stupid (rhetorical question - I already know the answer)!

Let's see - if Israel has the same policy as the US does with regards to the use of chem/bio on the battlefield (or on the civilian populace) then the Gaza Strip will essentially cease to exist following the first such attack on Israeli forces or civilians.

Not that I really expect the Israeli's (or the US) to follow through on such threats - we're far to civilized...

#3  Since the Gaza settlements were pulled out, there's no friendlies in the kill box. If al-Aqsa decides to start lobbinmg gas rounds across the fence, the Israelis can safely go full medieval on them.

#2  said the weapons were the result of an CLANDESTINE MIDDLE EAST SHIPPING effort that has lasted for three years.

Thank you Saddam, Syria, Russia, 21 trucks, etc.

#1  I noted this in the article above - this would be the single biggest mistake the Paleos ever made, and they are fully capable of making it. For some reason, the Jooooos are sensitive to poison gas threats. If the Paleos launch one, all bets are off. "Kill them all" will be the operative phrase, in hebrew
