PESHAWAR: A local court on Thursday told authorities to burn Pashto, Urdu, English and Indian CDs and posters of film actresses confiscated by the city police in various raids, eyewitnesses said. Officials of the Peshawar judicial magistrate, Tila Mohammad Khan, set on fire CDs and posters at the Judicial Complex, following the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA)'s government campaign against, what it believed, indecency and vulgarity in the NWFP. The court had ordered strict action against people patronising 'immoral' activities. |
