| Ernesto may be whimping out |

| At 1100 am [Aug 28]EDT...1500z...the center of Tropical Storm Ernesto was ... about 35 miles...west-northwest of Guantanamo Cuba. Ernesto is moving toward the northwest near 10 mph... Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 40 mph...with higher gusts. Additional weakening is likely as Ernesto moves over land today... [Ernesto has been steadily moving to the right of the forecast path (possibly a plot by Karl Rove) it is possible the interaction with Cuba will cause Ernesto to dissipate; the best chance of significant damage to the US is if Ernesto strengthens east of FL and hits NC] |

| #7 "best chance of significant damage to the US is if Ernesto strengthens east of FL and hits NC" I hope it doesn't get stronger than a tropical storm in Florida or along the East Coast, but I'm hoping it brings a decent amount of rain to Virgina. We're desperate for rain in Central Virginia - voluntary water restrictions already in place, mandatory threatened in a couple of week if we don't get significant rain. Fingers crossed.... |
