| Was he gunned down for trying to cooperate with the Maliki government? Lt.-Gen. Wajeeh Thirar Hneyfish was shot dead in the Baathist-Sunni stronghold in western Iraq on Thursday, Aug. 31. He commanded the Habbaniya Air Force base under Saddam. |
