Peshawar High Court on Monday extended pre-arrest bail of NWFP Health Minister Inayatullah Khan who was charged in a murder case of his relative and fixed Nov 20 for hearing. A single-bench headed by Justice Qaim Jan Khan issued notices to the health minister and his brother Anwar Khan in writ petition filed by Hayatullah, son of deceased Jehanzaib seeking cancellations of the minister's interim bail and bail of his brother. Barrister Zahorul Haq, who appeared on behalf of the minister, told the court that his clients were allegedly charged in the first information report (FIR) of late Jehan Zeb who was killed by the unknown armed men. He submitted before the court that the murder was committed by some other persons that was linked to the minister and his brother in FIR due to an old enmity and land dispute with their step uncle Jehan Zeb, a former Social Security Officer. Haq argued that there were also no circumstantial evidences against the minister and his brother and prayed before the court to extend interim bail, which was accepted. It may be recalled that the court had earlier granted pre-arrest bail to the minister on two-surety bonds of Rs 500,000 on Oct 12 last.
