A grave containing more than 30 bodies, apparently from SaddamÂ’s regime was found in the Shiite holy city of Karbala, police said. A local Iraqi made the discovery on Saturday when he uncovered bones and old clothes while he was digging a foundation for a house. He informed the police, who found more than 30 bodies of men and women believed to have been killed in 1991 when SaddamÂ’s forces brutally crushed a Shiite uprising following the Gulf War. Television news footage showed people standing around piles of bones that had been wrapped in blankets. |
