Camera tips off men to robbery
2006-12-29
CROSBY, TX — Startled by a loud noise in the middle of the night, Jay and Russell Jefferies stumbled from their beds early Wednesday to view the monitor of their home security camera to see what had interrupted their slumber.

What they saw jolted them awake.

According to authorities, four heavily armed men were outside their small house in the 3900 block of Crosby Barbers Hill Road trying to kick in the front door about 2 a.m.

The Jefferieses, whom investigators think are brothers, rushed to grab their shotguns and opened fire as the intruders burst through the door shooting, said Harris County sheriff's Sgt. N. Araguz. One brother managed to call 911 in the midst of flying bullets, he said.

By the time Harris County sheriff's deputies responded to the weapons-disturbance call, two suspects had been fatally wounded. Several hours later, deputies arrested the other suspects on charges of aggravated robbery.

#7  As crazy as California is, we would have set bail at no less than $100,000.

#3  2 issues here far as I'm concerned:
1) holding your own property against invaders (good)
2) what did that property consist of ( pure conjecture as to whether it was legal)

keep the two separate.

at any rate 2 bad guys that will not be repeat offenders and 2 more that the state has an interest in.

#2  Whatever is behind it, the boys stood their ground. First 2 thru the door blown away, and winged the other 2 bad enough to need medical care where the cops could saunter in and do their thing. This episode does sound suspicious, but imagine if they had been unarmed and just had a telephone to call 911. Think it would have turned out the same way ?
