2007-01-24
Introducing the Quetta cast of "Up With People!"
The Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) have vowed to continue their struggle for the restoration of democracy from the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal platform.

According to an official statement, MMA leader Qazi Hussain Ahmed met JUP leader Shah Muhammad Anas Noorani at Mansoora on Tuesday. Both leaders discussed the current political situation, and said the country was passing through a crucial period, therefore opposition parties should help each other in ending the rule of dictators. They also discussed plans for upcoming general elections, and agreed that a final decision on the MMAÂ’s election strategy and other related issues would be made at an upcoming meeting of the MMA supreme council.
