| Suicide bomber attacks Torkham crossing |

| A suspected suicide bomber blew himself up close to coalition forces in Afghanistan near the Torkham border crossing late on Wednesday afternoon, sources said. The attack took place around 300 metres off the Torkham gate on the Pakistan side and a foreign soldier and his Afghan interpreter were killed, said Pakistani security and border guards. “The suicide attack took place near the Afghan Gumrak customs house and coalition forces have cordoned off the area,” the sources wishing not to be named told Daily Times. Three persons were reported “seriously” wounded in the attack, which no group claimed responsibility for. Shinwari and Afridi tribes from Pakistan flock to the Afghan side every day for businesses and it was not known whether Pakistanis were also among the injured. |
