Moderate quake jolts Aceh |

A moderate 5.7-magnitude earthquake has struck north-west of the Indonesian province of Aceh, seismologists said, but there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties. The undersea quake, which hit at 5:47pm (local time) was centred 99 kilometres north-west of Sabang on the island of Weh, at a depth of 64 kilometres, the meteorology office said. The quake was felt in Banda Aceh, the capital of Aceh but did not cause damage or casualties, said Sutiono of the meteorology office. |
