2 women killed for 'honour'
2007-02-25
Two women in Sindh have been hacked to death by close relatives who suspected them of flirting with neighbours, in a so-called honour killing, said police on Saturday. Farida (18) and Hameeda (20) were asleep when the men attacked them with axes, smashing their heads, in a village in Sindh on Thursday morning, said police officer Ghulam Nabi. “The girls were asleep in their home when their four uncles attacked them,” Nabi told AFP. “They suspected the victims had bad character and were flirting with men in the village,” said Nabi, adding that two of the attackers had been arrested, and police were searching for the other two. The suspects told police the victims, who were not married, were kari.

#5  A5089, I visited France three times during my military career, all on vacation. I found the people of Alsace great, the people of Normandy wonderful, and the people of Paris beneath contempt. I've also had dealings with several members of the French military, which were usually arrogant and self-serving. I do not believe all French are like the Parisians, nor all members of the French military to be arrogant and self-serving (although it fits well enough with the officer corps). I don't say much about the French, because I don't like most of the ones making news, and my prejudices will show. At least I hope you understand where they come from if I ever do display them.

Muslim "honor killings" are a thing in and of themselves an indication of a religion of hate. If you have to kill young women to "prove" your honor, you have none.

#4  Hit him again, A5089. Excaliber, what does this have to do with France? Personally the French-bashing is getting old. Bash the politicians certainly but leave out the generalizations.

#3  Excalibur... have you been sniffing glue? Do you really feel compulsed to indulge in french bashing with absurd bits like that, while speaking about two women murdered by primitives? What's the link, beside your prejudice?

#1  More lions of islam attacking defenseless women... best to make sure by attacking them when they are asleep. No wonder Napoleon claimed France was an islamic country; they have the same sense of honor and masculinity.

If the state will not deal with the men who carry out these acts it will be vigilantes taking care of business in the end. Not that I am advocating vigilante behavior, merely "warning" it is on the way.
