| Saudis amputate right hand of Pakistani thief |

 A Pakistani convicted of robbery had his right hand amputated in a public square in compliance with Islamic law on Wednesday, the Saudi Interior Ministry said in a statement. Mohammed Haji Ghoulam had been convicted of theft in the holy city of Medina, said the statement, which did not disclose what he stole. His right hand was amputated at the wrist, the statement added. |

| #3 His right hand was amputated at the wrist, the statement added. I think "amputated" is a bit euphemistic - "hacked off" would be more accurate IMO. |
