Tom Tancredo Announces '08 Presidential Bid

Colorado Republican Representative Tom Tancredo made it official Monday morning, announcing his bid for President of the United States. Tancredo, a Denver native, made the announcement during a radio appearance in Des Moines, Iowa.

Iowa holds the nationÂ’s first political caucuses, which will take place in January 2008. Tancredo is among the most vocal advocates in Congress on the issue of securing the United States border with Mexico and cracking down on illegal immigration. He and his wife, Jackie, have been married for 30 years and have two children and five grandchildren.

#19  I like Tancredo, do I think he has any real chance? No. But I'm hoping that he will bring some real dialog into focus about the illegal problem.
I feel like lots of folks are identifying the problem of illegals and the open border, but there is never any action to stop it. I feel strongly that Tancredo would be very pro-active, and I would like to hear how other candidates would act. Tancredo will be good at stirring the pot, let's see what kind of cream comes to the top.

Mike, You are certainly entitled to your opinion that Tancredos’ assertions of a larger agenda behind the illegal immigration debate are conspiracy theory rants from a racist bigot. But I would suggest there is ample evidence to support his views if one is willing to consider the broader picture. Other then amnesty for illegal aliens, how many viewpoints do Labor Unions and the US Chamber of Commerce share? Now, without the traditional myopic “special interest” explanations, ask yourself; Why is that? As long as people view amnesty for illegal aliens as a single issue and not a phenomena they will continue to be manipulated through very simple propaganda. Just consider how easily people are coerced either by the “race card” from the left or the “economic card” from the corporations that exploit cheap labor. I’ll say it again…Take a look around brother!

#3  Expect a smear campaign from Eastern elitists. He once said that if the Muzzis get too aggressive, then nuking Mecca might be an option. That is a lot different from advocating: NUKE MECCA!

Just curious: if one of the nuclear powers informed the Sauds that Mecca was about to be glassed, and gave them a week to depopulate the target, what would be the effect of destroying the city while not harming a single Muslim? Muzzis believe that Mecca is their deity's portal on earth. Ergo: if it was destroyed in default of divine protection, then the mask of deception might be pulled off their self appointed "prophet." No place to make pilgrimage; no reason to believe in Quran direction.
