12 Killed in Bomb / Chlorine Attack
2007-04-06
Here's our version of the earlier story from APTwelve Iraqi civilians were killed and 43 were injured including one policeman after a suicide truck bomber detonated a vehicle suspected of containing chlorine in western Ramadi at approximately 11 a.m. today.

The attack occurred when a white truck approached an Iraqi Police checkpoint in the TaÂ’meem district of Ramadi at a high rate of speed. The police standing guard attempted to signal the driver, but he did not stop, forcing the officers to engage the vehicle with small arms fire. It is unclear whether the police gunfire caused the vehicle to explode or if the driver detonated it.

Coalition Forces arrived after the explosion to assist in the medical evacuation and set up security around the blast site. The injured were evacuated to a local hospital as well as Coalition medical facility for initial treatment. Urgent casualties were further evacuated to a larger military facility for more extensive care.

#3  > I don't understand what the heck these guys are doing ...

They are counting on 1) the terrorizing effect of chemical weapons, and that 2) the liberal Western press will ignore Jihadi war crimes.

#2   You get a lot more political flak for using chemical weapons, but actually kill less people

perhaps they understand the bias and competence level of our Media better than we expect (or do, our selves?)? They know they'll never be called on it by the MSM and talking heads

#1  It was an American officer who said that pound for pound, you can kill more people with high explosives than you can with chemical weapons. I don't understand what the heck these guys are doing, but it's just nuts. You get a lot more political flak for using chemical weapons, but actually kill less people. You gotta conclude that the quality of the jihadist leadership is spiraling downwards.
