Jihadis kill state official in southern Thailand |

Insurgents shot dead a state officer in Yala on Thursday morning, police said. Surasak Pataru, 40, deputy tambon Noen Ngam administrative organization chief executive, was killed when he was traveling to a post office in Raman district. He was also a staff at the post office. Pol. Lt. Jirayu Phurahong, a police officer in Raman district, said he learned of the shooting shortly after 10 a.m. He said he saw Surasak's body on a roadside when he arrived at the scene. According to initial report, insurgents gunned him down when he was driving a motorcycle to work this morning. |
