 (SomaliNet) One soldier on Thursday was confirmed dead and two others were wounded when a big explosion rocked Bulo-Gadud village on the suburb of the Somalia southern port city of Kismayu, 500km of the capital. Witnesses told Somalinet that the explosion was caused by a rocket propelled grenade that accidentally exploded inside the army compound.
Bulo-gadud, some miles away of Kismayu is a base of clan based government soldiers who involved in the recent clashes in the city and it is feared that these soldiers might again launch an attack to recapture the port city.

Local residents in Bulo-Gadud grew more concern over the insecurity in their village following the clashes of rival clan militias within the government. Killing, raping and robbing are rampant in the SomaliÂ’s southern region of lower Juba after the withdrawal of the Ethiopian forces from the region. Rival clans are challenging for the control of Kismayu, the provincial capital.
