Suspected militants hurled three grenades at the home of a senior tribal journalist in the Hayatabad area of Peshawar on Saturday. The blast damaged two rooms but no one was hurt. Nasrullah Afridi, Khyber Agency correspondent for Urdu daily Mashriq, told Daily Times that him home in phase four of Hayatabad in Tatara police station limits was attacked at around 8:00pm. Shamsur Rehman of Tatara police station said that he had so far not received any information about the blast. Afridi said he was not at home at the time of attack but his family was in another room and remained unhurt. He said the Khyber Agency based Lashkar-e-Islami was behind the attack and he would lodge an FIR against the organisation. |
