(Xinhua) -- Six civilian detainees were killed and at least 50 wounded in rocket or mortar attack on a U.S.-run detention facility on Saturday in southern Iraq, the military said. The six were killed when the Multi-National Force-Iraq Theater Internment Facility at Camp Bucca near the city of Basra was attacked by "indirect fire," which usually refers to rocket or mortar attack, according to a brief statement. The statement said that no U.S. service members were killed or injured in the attack. The names of those killed are being withheld until families have been notified. |
