2007-10-10 |
Representatives from the IDF and from the Lebanese Armed Forces met on Monday at a UN base in Nakoura, Israel Radio reported. The meeting, coordinated by the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, focused on aerial violations the LAF claimed were being carried out by the Israeli Air Force over Lebanese skies. The sides also discussed security matters regarding the disputed border village of Ghajar and the redrawing of the UN-drawn Blue Line boundary between the two countries. UNIFIL commander Maj.-Gen. Claudio Graziano said afterwards that the talks were effective. He added that he was encouraged by their general direction and the decisiveness shown by both sides to oversee the implementation of UNSC resolution 1701. |
