Ex-Mexico Prez: Racists™ Stop Immigration
2007-10-10
By DIEGO A. SANTOS Associated Press GhostWriter

NEW YORK (AP) - Former Mexican President Vicente Fox said Monday that the United States is letting Racism™ dictate its policies, especially when it comes to immigration.
"The Xenophobics™, the Racists™, those who feel they are a superior race ... they are deciding the future of this nation," he said, without naming names, in an interview with The Associated Press.

In his first interview to promote his new book, "Revolution of Hope," Fox applauded President Bush's desire to pass an immigration accord that would allow more Mexicans to work legally in the U.S.

But he criticized Bush for failing to pass the promised reform.

"There was always a reason for why it couldn't be done. 'It is not possible because of the elections.' He couldn't touch the topic because this election is very important, or because security was more important," Fox said.

"So, when are they going to finally address it? It needs to be resolved."

Fox said he hopes his new book, written in English, helps Americans understand the Mexican point of view on immigration.

"To be so repressive isn't democractic or free ... to be putting up fences, chasing Mexicans, that isn't right," Fox said. "The U.S. needs better answers than repression, weapons and violence."

Fox also talked about his sometimes rocky relationship with Bush, a man he calls a "windshield cowboy" in his book.

Both men had worked together as governors of influential agricultural states in Mexico and the U.S. They began their presidential terms in office nearly eight years ago with close relations, and Bush even made a visit to Fox's central Mexican ranch his first foreign trip as president in early 2001.

But they split ways on Iraq, after Fox refused to back the impending war.

"There are important differences between myself and President Bush, including the case of Iraq and other topics where we think and act differently," Fox said.

Fox also denied media and opposition allegations of illicit wealth that have arisen in Mexico, after a celebrity magazine published photos of his newly renovated ranch. He said the accusations were made "without any evidence."

"It's just yellow journalism," he said.

#14  Well following the Chinese 'model', you'd think we could 'draft' ten million or so 'workers' and dig a sea level canal wide enough for world class oil tankers to travel both directions from San Diego to Brownsville.

#13  I want one that makes that thing in china look like a popsickle stick model.

Word, B6.

#12  Heck, all illegal gang members convicted of a violent crime toward an American citizen should be shot as Illegal combatants under geneva.

#11  I agree Rambler.

I also want a wall vice a fence. I want one that makes that thing in china look like a popsickle stick model. Just so were clear.

#10  re #6: I think we should enforce the type of laws that Mexico has regarding non-citizens: they are not allowed to engage in any political activity, they cannot own property, they can be deported without trial. If we did that, we would not have the problem we are having today.

#9  Thus begins Hispanophobia.

#8  He can't come up with a logical argument so he calls us racists and xenophobes. This is the same thing as what I wrote yesterday in response to Senator Reid asking Rush Limbaugh for an apology over his "phony soldiers" remark. The Dhimmicrats, or in this case Fox, cannot win with logical arguments so they resort to lies, half truths, distortions, obfuscations and emotional appeals. When all else fails they will try to shout you down. The La Raza types and Mexican politicians never hesitate to play the race card but, typically, they ignore the very pertinent fact that the United States is the most racially diverse and racially tolerant nation on earth.

What does it mean to be a racist? Does it mean I hate brown people who are shorter than I am? Well, I don't so I guess I'm not a racist.

Does it mean I don't want San Diego to end up looking like Mexico City? That's what will happen if guys like Fox have their way. Well then, I guess I am a racist.

But I don't want San Diego to end up looking like Los Angeles or New York either not because they have too many short brown people but because they have too many people in general, too much pollution and too many cars just like Mexico City. So maybe I'm not a racist. Gee, I'm confused. But then, that's what Fox wants.

Fix your own country, Fox, before you start calling me names.

#7  Racist? Notice how many of the 'illegals' from Mexico are composed of persons of obvious pure Spanish blood? Notice how many of the 'illegals' from Mexico are composed of persons of "la sangre de los mestizos y indios"?

The unskilled, uneducated, unwanted of Mexico are far more victims of Mexican social racism and cultural elitism that keeps the wealth of Mexico in the hands of around 40 Mexican families and their retainers. Of course you an avoid the usual result of such behaviors, revolution or reform, by dumping same said 'victims' on the US.

#6  I don't know of any country that doesn't have immigration laws, most enforce them at the end of a machine gun. I know firsthand that it is a felony to be in mexico illegally. When you get to their border there are guys in army uniforms with .308 FN automatic rifles.

#5  What a dumb$hit. Try sending 40 million Americans across the Mexican border illegally and see what happens. Fox is trying to deflect attention from a failed country, economy, and government. I don't really care what he thinks. Build the fence faster.

#4  Anyone in this country illegally should be considered a terrorist/spy and deported. If they are caught again, then execute them.

Start billing Mexico for every federal and state tax dollar that has been spent on them as well. If Mexico complains, tell them we'll annex 1 sq mile of their land per illegal from Mexico we find in this country.

#3  So you are a racist for putting a fence on your southern border.

So fuck you, fuck your country and may you die of syphilis.

#2  easy el foxy -- we treat every illegal just like mexico treats them and change our constitution to match theirs as well --> frickin moron

#1  "To be so repressive isn't democractic or free ... to be putting up fences, chasing Guatamalans Mexicans, that isn't right," Fox said. "Mexico The U.S. needs better answers than repression, nepotism, corruption, weapons and violence."

-there fixed it. The crow calling the raven black. This guy is double-standard personified.
