Fourteen Saudi nationals detained in the American Guantanamo Bay detention camp in Cuba have returned home Saturday morning, said an Interior Ministry spokesman. The families of the returned detainees are being informed of their arrival, and arrangements are being made for reunion, said the spokesman, quoted by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
On his part, Interior Minister Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz welcomed the return of the detainees, reiterating the kingdom's commitment to continue to work for the release of all Saudis detained in Guantanamo. He also noted that nationals who had previously been released from the prison were adhering to regulations and instructions. As for the fourteen who had just returned, Prince Nayef said they would be subjected to regulations employed in such cases.
