Tu-wae Maha, brother-in-law of a former senior police officer in the South was shot by unidentified attackers on Sunday morning in Narathiwat province, according to police in Rue-Soh district. The 72-year-old man was found lying in a pool of blood when police arrived before he was immediately sent to hospital with serious injuries.
Investigators found six bullet casings at the crime scene. They were later able to determine that the victim was on his way to a rubber plantation on his motorcycle when he came under attack. He had been planning to inspect the plantation after news emerged that rubber trees had been felled by an unknown group of locals. Witnesses said he was shot from behind by two men on a motorcycle. |
