| Hawiye spokesman handed to Ethiopia |

| (SomaliNet) The traditional council of Hawiye clan in Somalia on Saturday issued a press release stating that the detained spokesman for the council Ahmed Dirie had been handed over to the Ethiopian military officials who then took him to Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia. The council condemned the action of extraditing the spokesman to the Ethiopian government as fuelling the problem in the war-torn country of Somalia. In the statement, the council also said the arrest of the Hawiye spokesperson was not to tell the facts on ground. The Hawiye traditional council called for the transitional federal government to release Ahmed Dirie who recently had been captured from his house in Mogadishu by the government troops. |
