Gunmen ambushed a paramilitary convoy in Balochistan on Wednesday, killing three soldiers and injuring five others, officials said. The attack took place in Panjgur district, bordering Iran, an area where both tribals and criminals are known to be active, a paramilitary commander told AFP. “Unknown miscreants lobbed a hand grenade and fired bullets at two vehicles of the Frontier Corps in Panjgur district, killing three soldiers and wounding five,” he said. Troops returned fire but there were no immediate reports of casualties among the assailants, the official said. Nobody has claimed responsibility for the attack, but the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), a banned group, has claimed responsibility for several such attacks in the past. |
