5 injured in blast near Quetta DCO's office |

At least five people were slightly injured in a bomb blast at a high security area in BalochistanÂ’s provincial capital on Thursday morning, Police said. According to details, a bomb exploded at a bicycle parking stand outside the office of the Quetta district coordination officer (DCO), at around 11.30am. The bomb, which was reportedly homemade, had been installed on a bicycle. The injured people were rushed to QuettaÂ’s Civil Hospital. Minutes before the blast, a large number of reporters and locals had gathered a few metres away from the district courts compound where lawyers were holding a protest. Balochistan Deputy Inspector General Rehmatullah Niazi arrived at the spot and examined the damaged bicycle on which the bomb had been affixed. The blast occurred at a central location in Quetta and the residences of the Balochistan governor and the chief minister, civil secretariat are located around hundred metres away. |
