| #3 It's been clear for a while NATO is too weak and fractured for its role in in Afghanistan. NATO for practical purposes is dead and the USA should focus on Iraq, the real prize. Trying to take up the NATO slack in Afghanistan is a recipe for losing both Afghanistan and Iraq. |

| #2 NATO is done, stick a fork in it. The Germans want no part of a real war. If NATO dies it's on Europe's shoulders and it shows what the reality of any EU force is, useless as tits on a bull. |
