Williamson, "Media Blog" @ National Review Richard Stern, writing at The New Republic's blog, dissects Hillary's code-shifting, specifically her tendency to abbreviate gerunds and participles when addressing proles important primary constituencies. He asks: Why isn’t it noticed, or, if noticed, not commented upon? At least in her Ohio and Texas talks, Hillary Clinton drops the final "G" from the "ing" words (participles, gerunds)—an annoyance, especially to those who’ve heard her talking to other people and groups where not one "G" is dropped and she sounds like the young woman who gave a famous Wellesley College commencement address, was one of America’s 100 most successful lawyers, was first lady of Arkansas and the United States, and has been a successful U.S. senator from New York State for eight years. Does no one remember her "prayin' woman" schtick? Aw, c'mon now! You-all city slickers don' think Hil'ry'd be droppin' the "G" of'n her I-N-G words jus' 'cause she'd be panderin' t' us country folk, do ye? |

| #10 Or possibly Senator Clinton just has an ear for accents. I'm afraid I do, only unlike my mother I mostly don't have conscious control over it. You should here what I sound like after conversing for a bit with Mr. Wife's Indian colleagues! When we lived in Germany, I was often complimented on how well I spoke English, and asked where I'd studied... then there was the time one of Mr.Wife's colleagues was so thrilled to find out I was American that he had to run up to him at a party to tell him about it -- it seems the poor gentleman thought Mr. Wife had thought I was a local German girl who'd sustained brain damage in a terrible car accident (I had the accent and the intonation, but my grammar was terrible and my vocabulary mostly suited to the preschool playground). When she was in college and living in the international dorm, Mama used a different accent every time her etiquette class met: Finnish one day, Nigerian the next, Cuban after that... she said it was the only thing that made learning not to stick her chewing gum under the subway seat bearable. |

| #5 best scenario- Clinton stays in the primary to the end, damages Obama who is nominated but who loses big to McCain. Hillary blamed by the netroots and many MSM who then continue unleashing bile on her and Bill day after day, month after month for the rest of her time in the Senate. |
