#9  Sorry, Sgt Mom. Our USMC Hawk Battery just lost our Corpsman March 3rd to collapsed lung/pneumonia . 66 year old, 300lb fun guy in Upstate NY,...he did our newsletter plus the 44th reunion organizing for Quantico last September. Never easy times, hang in there kid.

#8  No, Muggsy. He was a new age (in the sense of the internet) guy. I was sometimes paid through paypal, or cash, or whatever. The friends he spent all of Friday with said he had a hell of a headache, and didn't feel well at all. They brought him home after taking his car to the shop. He last talked to someone on the phone about 10 PM.
Just got back from his place, spending a couple of hours sorting things out with his other employee/friend. We were both actually rather calm - I think having to focus on the things that had to be done, about his place, the clients and his businesses was kind of steadying.

Oh, I'll probably cry buckets at the service. He was someone that I relied on... and now he isn't there any more.

#7  I lived in Reno for 6 years, even have a 'where the h*ll is Truckee' T-shirt... finally bought the book today.
(Did you find the last entry in Dave's check book to be sure it wasn't done?)

#5  Thank you all so very much. Dave had so many friends, many of whom are just now finding out about his death. He had chronic health problems, but the suddenness of it was an awful shock to us all.
And of course, everyone is treating me with kid gloves, expecting me to go completely unglued from the experience of being the one to find him. I haven't yet. Maybe I should just fake a fit or something, just to get it over with.

#3  That truly sucks rocks.

Hit her tip jar if you can, guys - it sounds like she really needs it, she's a friend of ours, and she's a great person who deserves better than that day.
