2008-05-29 |
At least four people have been separately killed in Dharkenley neighborhood west of Somali capital Mogadishu on Monday night according to the residents. One of the deceased people was shot dead close to Dhame-Yasin Artan School by unknown men while another one was killed in Abdi Hafid village the two others were killed near Ali Omar Township in the similar Dharkenley neighborhood. All the deceased were young men. It's yet unknown the motive/groups behind those upset killings of the civilians. The armed conflict in Mogadishu has steadily escalated since the Ethiopian-backed Somali Transitional Federal Government (TFG) established itself in Mogadishu in January 2007. In December 2006, Ethiopian forces with US support ousted the coalition of Islamic Courts from Mogadishu and other areas of south-central Somalia in a lightning offensive. |
