| Second round of Syrian-Israeli indirect peace talks concluded in Turkey |

| (Xinhua) -- Israeli and Syrian representatives on Monday concluded the second round of indirect peace talks in Turkey, local daily Yedioth Ahronoth reported on its website. Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's negotiation delegates, Yoram Turbovich and Shalom Turgeman, reported positive atmosphere during the two-day talks, said the report. Israeli officials in Jerusalem, however, clarified that the upcoming meeting between Olmert and Syrian President Bashar al- Assad in Paris on July 13 will not revolve around the peace talks. "This is a French initiative, if it happens - great. Olmert said he will attend the meeting and has emphasized his willingness to meet with Arab leaders," the sources were quoted as saying. |
