(VOI) - A total of 189 persons were arrested within security operation Bashaer al-Kheir (Promise of Good) operation in Diala, while the curfew was completely lifted, the official spokesman for the Defense Ministry said on Thursday. "Joint police and army forces arrested 155 wanted men, while Multi-National Forces captured 34 others during Bashaer al-Kheir (Promise of Good) operation in Diala," General Mohamed al-Askari told Aswat al-Iraq - Voices of Iraq - (VOI). "The curfew imposed by the Iraqi forces on the province was completely lifted," he added. Diala is one of the most unstable provinces in Iraq and has recently witnessed several suicide attacks by female bombers, recruited by al-Qaeda in Iraq. Local authorities in Diala on Tuesday imposed an indefinite curfew within preparations for a large-scale military operation dubbed Bashaer al-Kheir (Promise of Good) to track down gunmen of al-Qaeda network.
