Hezbollah training Iraqi militiamen in Lebanon & Iran: Report |

The New York Times has published testimonies by detained Iraqi Shiite militiamen about training in Iran and Lebanon by Revolutionary Guards and Hezbollah operatives on the use of weapons and explosives. The training, according to the report by Mark Mazzetti, included the use of automatic rifles, anti-aircraft guns, machine guns, mortars and the handling of explosives, especially roadside bombs. The lengthy report described the day-to-day life of Iraqi Shiite trainees, how they were recruited and the routes used to take them to Iran and Lebanon, via Syria.
