British Prime Minister Gordon Brown embarks on a mini-tour of oil-rich Gulf states Saturday, but could struggle to win support for his plan to boost funds available to nations hit by global economic chaos. Brown will head to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar in a four-day visit and is likely to argue that Gulf states should be among the biggest donors to an expanded International Monetary Fund (IMF) bailout scheme. |

#1 That doesn't strike me as a bright idea, but then neither does Prime Minister Brown. Israel is to have elections in February; how soon for British elections? |
