US should revise its anti-terror strategy: EU
2008-11-06
The European Union (EU) has called upon the new US administration to rethink its war on terror strategy by taking Pakistan on board, Dawn News reported on Wednesday. Speaking at a EU gathering on the Middle East situation in Brussels, EU Foreign Policy Chief Javier Solana said he hoped that the new US leadership would follow a policy of 'engagement and multilateralism'. "Without engaging Pakistan in an effective manner, it would be very difficult to resolve the issues in Afghanistan" he said.

#16  If so many people weren't out to get me I wouldn't be paranoid.

#15  Paranoia is an irrational fear - if there is reason to fear then it is not paranoia.

#14  OP, by your definition, I'm paranoid too.
(And still alive and kicking)

Keep your weapons oiled and ammo dry, WAIT.

#13  Entropy is real. The Universe is trying to kill me. You too.

The real question is: Are you paranoid enough?

My "paranoia" has kept me alive through several very NASTY experiences, AB9540. Being paranoid doesn't mean you don't have real enemies. I dread an Obama presidency because Obama doesn't live in the real world. It's hard to govern based on reality when you don't have much experience with it.

Spike Uniter, I'm quite sure you're not a student of history (particularly as it pertains to Jews)

#9  Obama is an “Underlying Cause” guy. (ie; Don't make Bin Laden a martyr comment.) Which is not completely different then the current “Hearts and Minds” crew in the Bush DoS. (And much of DoD) Biden on the other hand has proven throughout his career to the diplomatic flim-flam the Europeans absolutely love. ObamaÂ’s innate arrogance could actually be beneficial in these regards. In other words, ask JoesÂ’s advice and then do the opposite.

#8  If it's still functioning properly and we've lost no lives to terror, please explain what it is that needs fixing?

#7  Um, was there any indication that the Washington snipers had any affiliations? Although one was a muslim convert, weren't they just a pair of "gay avenger" nut jobs?

As for terrorist bombing in the next four years, I assume it's a given: my heart says "congress," but my head says "Sears Tower."

#6  Well obviously the EU is better at anti-terrorism, just look at the number of terrorist attacks in Europe since 2002 compared to the US...

To cut the EU security forces (which are actually rather good against muslim terror) some slack, one reasons believe the USA didn't get any major terror acts on their territory is that it made moer "sense" to fight the USA in iraq; that is, the fly paper theory which was probably more successful than what it was credited for, coupled with vigourous secret undertakings to disrupt networks, in africa or elsewhere.
The grunts went to die in iraq instead of going cause mahyem in the USA (where there is not that critical mass of muslims... yet, to nurture therrorism, as opposed to EUrope), and the brains were too busy not being caught and/or snuffed.

Though, the USA DID have several instant jihad terror attacks, as early as 2003 IIRC, with the fragging in kuweit, the most notable being the Washington snipers.
