| Iraqi education official escapes assassination |

| Another senior Iraqi education official has escaped assassination while travelling to central Baghdad on Tuesday, the government said in a statement. Two civilians and three guards were injured when a roadside bomb hit the convoy of Higher Education Ministry undersecretary Ammar Aziz Mohammad Ali, police said. The undersecretary was not hurt in the bombing. Last Thursday, the Minister of Higher Education escaped injury when a roadside bomb exploded near his convoy in the same district. |
