| Aswat al-Iraq: A ban on vehicles was announced in the city of Karbala on Friday evening on the eve of the country's local elections, an official source in the province said. "The ban will be effective as of Friday evening until 10:00 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 31) with the exception of vehicles carrying special badges including journalists'," the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency. "The ban is part of a security plan in preparation for the provincial council elections that are due to start at 07:00 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 31)," he added. |
