Mufti Munib questions Sufi's statement about apex courts

There exists no government in Malakand division, Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Mufti Munibur Rehman said on Sunday. Talking to a private TV channel about the peace deal with TNSM chief Sufi Muhammad, he said the government had, unconditionally, given Malakand division to Sufi.About Sufi's fatwa against democracy, Rehman said the government should be asked why it had made a deal with Sufi, who calls the democracy in Pakistan un-Islamic. "By signing agreement with Sufi Muhammad, the government, perhaps, has accepted Sufi Muhammad's fatwa against democracy." The former president of Supreme Court Bar Association, Aitzaz Ahsan termed the statement by Sufi amazing, saying the apex courts of Pakistan were constituted in accordance with the 1973 constitution. Religious scholars of Pakistan had termed the constitution Islamic, since the Council of Islamic Ideology formulated it, he said.
