Village leader gunned down in southern Thailand |

A Muslim village head was killed Wednesday in Sungai Kolok district of the southernmost province of Narathiwat, according to police. Mr. Sadi Arong, head of Ta Se Nua village in Sungai Padi district, was gunned down by a suspected insurgent while he drove a motorcycle past a military base in Sungai Kolok district. The village head sustained multiple gunshot wounds, according to the authorities. Five bullet casings were found at the crime scene, police said.
