Crowd Explodes When Arlen Specter Urges That We "Do This Fast"

#16  Cornsilk has it right

Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it and polarize it.

Boy do they do they hate it turned on them

#15  Ask him why Congress will not put themselves and their families under the laws they are writing and forcing us into.

Blondie has it right:

Ask him if you can get the same care on the Obama plan as he did under Congress' own insurance. Ask him to prove it.

Ask him why we cannot simply choose to have the same plan Congress does.

#14  Offer him a "Can You Hear Me Now" certificate as Honorary Member of the Lord North's Cabinet Historical and Preservation Society.

#13  Mitch, I think it would be better to take a page from Alinsky (yep, Obama's fave philosopher), and find a way to put him up for public ridicule.

Y'know, ask him precisely what part of the bill did he bother to read personally, since he couldn't manage to read the whole thing....ask if the cancer treatment that his sorry ass received will be covered under the pending legislation....ask if his loss of seniority after switching parties kept him from successfully submitting any amendments to things like the Obamacare bill, cap and trade, etc.....you know, nice subtle ways to stick in the knife and watch the pathetic troll twist.

Trust me, it will be far more satisfying than calling him names that we all know he deserves....especially if you can get it on YouTube. ;)

#12  trailing: Specter had cancer a while back - it doesn't seem to have slowed his treacherous ass down any.

He's supposed to be in State College next week for a town hall meeting. I've never gone to one of these things before, but I've almost committed myself to going & heckling. I'm not *actually* going to bring rotten tomatoes - for one thing, I don't keep fresh fruit around.

Do you think just calling him a cocksucker & demanding he retire & go the hell away would be counterproductive? I don't approve of federal meddling with health insurance enough to engage substantially - "don't fucking do anything" isn't likely to fly with a meddling ass like snarlin' Arlen.

#11  Thanks, redneck. Now she's inflicted on the rest of us.

#10  As a Kansas I apologize for Sebelius. On the other hand I'm glad to be rid of her here.

#9  TW that's Dodd that just discovered prostate cancer. I don't believe he's made a decision on his re-election bid.

#8  I thought Mr. Specter was just discovered to have cancer or something, and so was not going to run in the next election... or was that someone else?

#7  A lot of that Ebbang is because the M-F media is refusing to do their job - that is to _inform_ the voters.

Instead of in-depth and measured review of a canidate's record and history we get 30-second sound bites or fluffy-bunny interviews (Boxers or Briefs? - heck the interviewer should know since they are down there often enough).

Unless of course the candidate isn't in favor with the media elite - in which case you get a virtual army of investigative reporters and researchers digging into personal history of the candidate, their family and their family's friends mother. Not to mention overtly hostile interviews with condescending interviewers which are later hacked up and misquoted to make the candidate look like an idiot on steroids.

#6  In simple words Lagom - TV and Hollywierd have melted the average voters brain.
Posted by: 3dc   2009-08-04 12:41

#5  Unfortunately, Lagom, voters in this country are not very sophisticated. All too often it is the candidate who has the most money who wins elections. The candidate who is the best at pimping himself out is usually the one who wins. They get the money from unions, corporations and special interest groups and they use it to buy 30 second sound bites on TV. Those little sound bites are about all the voters ever learn about them. You also get candidates like Obama who have what they call "charisma" which, as far as I can tell, means that people like him. They don't know why. They don't care what he has to say because he looks good, he has a good voice and he's charming. He makes people feel good talking about motherhood and apple pie while avoiding specifics. Once they make it into office, like Specter has, the special interests are eager to curry their favor by making generous contributions to their next campaign which is why it is extremely difficult to unseat an incumbent. The TV and newspapers will bore you to death with stories about how the candidates are doing in the polls and how much money they have to spend on their campaigns but they will give you precious little information about how they stand on the issues. But there are times when you get a guy who is so bad that even the voters figure it out. We can only hope that this is such a time for Specter.

#4  Notice sebilius has the same drop the mic and grimicae off to the side, make funny face move? It looks like she has repeated that move a few times. "I have never been in congress...its the hardest I've ever seen congress work." Amazing, the silver mullet strikes again!

#3  Were an MP to act as Mr Specter has done, he would be going home and never returned to office. He stab his party in the back repeatedly and then jump parties when challenged! He ignores his people he is to represent. His reputation would earn a vile disloyal coward, and opportunist, and untrustworthy, and undeserving of crate to stand on and speak, unsuitable for even a town council seat.

Could someone who knows USA Political System better than I please explain to me why Mr Specter has any credibility, and remains electable?

Is this another case of the unexplainable stupidity of a state politics, like Senator Franken in Minnesota?

#2  The fact that they were voted in at all is quite disturbing.

#1  You stand up citizens. You stand up to these petty tyrants and demand accountibility. Better yet, vote all of them out.

You have to live with it, I refuse.
