| At least 19 people were killed and more than 18 injured in a gunfight between pro and anti--Baitullah Mehsud groups in Tank district. The clashes broke out soon after media reports saying that Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan leader Baitullah might have been killed in a missile strike by US drones. A private TV cannel reported that Baitullah's men attacked two offices of peace committees run by Turkistan Bhitani in Imamkhel and Umerada areas of Tank. Around 200 well-equipped Taliban took part in the pre-dawn raid. The gunfight continued for about two hours, the channel reported. |
