Soldier wounded in bombing in southern Thailand |

A bomb injured one paramilitary ranger Wednesday morning while two villagers were wounded Tuesday night in bombings in the southern border province of Pattani. A paramilitary ranger was injured in an explosion while investigating a suspicious object in Kapho district according to local authorities. The soldier is being treated in hospital. Meanwhile, Sapi-ing Sama and Yagi Wamae were injured in a bombing Tuesday night near a school in the provincial seat. An initial investigation by police and the forensic science unit found that a remote controlled bomb had been hidden in a metal box at an electric pole opposite the school. At a crime scene, security personnel also found fragments of the box, batteries, wires, an electric bulb, a switch and a remote control device.
