Three people, including a village head, were killed in a gun battle in the southern border province of Narathiwat while an assistant village headman was wounded in a drive-by shooting in Pattani. In Ruso district of Narathiwat, two men, identified as village head Maropae Yusobluga and defence volunteer Ibroheng Malasae were killed Sunday night following an exchange of gunfire with a group of unidentified assailants.
