 Buchanan's essay, which argues that Hitler did not want war! is disgusting enough; some of his commenters are making coded--and not-so-coded--references to the "moneyed interests" that were supposedly manipulating things behind the scenes.Apparently, Pitchfork Pat has never heard of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact. Link takes you to Jonathan Adler at National Review, who laments: Some chap has taken over Pat Buchanan's website and posted a parody essay . . . It is a parody, right? |

| #11 Damn. Wrote a longish, soemwhat relevant comment based on Ed & SM's comment, but it got canned. Won't rewrite it, as I'm off to bed, but OT suggestion : anyway one could find somewhere a list of the keywords that make comments disappear?? It's pretty frustrating; i don't believe it would be a "loose lips sink ships" situation if somewhere in the sidebar there was a link to a list of the words to avoid. |

| #8 I listened to a book here recently by one of the hosts of Crossfire (I am terrible with names). He met Buchanan and got the tour around the 'church' Apparently his 'church' revolves around Pat getting a LOT of air time and the guy will ALWAYS go to a requested interview. Even if he knows NOTHING about the subject. |

In 1914, the concept of Lebensraum was endorsed secretly by the Chancellor Theobald von Bethmann-Hollweg and the rest of the German government as a war aim in World War I. Documents discovered by the German historian Fritz Fischer have established that in the event of a German victory, the policy of the German government was to annex Congress Poland, expel the entire Polish population, both Catholic and Jewish, and in their place settle millions of Germans as a part of a scheme for the German colonization of Eastern Europe[4][5]. The significance of Fischer's discovery, as the Australian historian John Moses has noted, is that the goal of winning lebensraum was already German policy long before 1933 and thus cannot be seen, as some German historians have argued, as solely Adolf Hitler's personal brain-child[6] |
