| Death of Al-Qassam member announced by Hamas as martyrdom |

| Ma'an - Hamas' military wing the Izz Ad-Din Al-Qassam brigades announced the martyrdom of one of its members, Sameh Al-Bitar, in the Al-Sabra neighborhood in of Gaza City Saturday afternoon. The statement did not explain the nature of the death, but said Al-Bitar was on a jihad mission when he was killed. Over the past week fighters have regularly launched homemade projectiles at Israeli targets near the Gaza Strip. Israeli forces respond to each launch with at least one airstrike on the Strip. |
