#14  "Not to worry! Dear Leader will soon appoint a czar for the Office of Vagino-American Empowerment."

Btw what is Bill Clinton doing these days?

#13  "ACORN is dead, long live COI". ACORN is changing it's name to protect the guilty. Wonder how much of our money the "new" organization will get.

#12  To be charitable, I think the Speaker usually votes only to break ties.

However, according to reader Kevin O'Brien on Glenn Reynolds' site:

ItÂ’s a typical these-voters-are-such-rubes stunt; the House and Senate voted to defund ACORN on different bills.

The Senate bill is a housing bill, the House bill the federal takeover of student loans. Each bill will wind up in conference committee where the ACORN ban can be quietly stripped out, behind closed doors and secure from prying eyes. Then the org can keep on doing its important work of voter fraud and pandering to presumed pedophiles.

The most useful principle to hold close when considering members of Congress: theyÂ’re all crooks.

Let's keep watch.

#10  That's so unfair. Who will consult enterprising hookers now?

Not to worry! Dear Leader will soon appoint a czar for the Office of Vagino-American Empowerment.

#9  NOES included:

Rangel
Waters
Lee
Scott
Rush
Watson
Ellison
Edwards
Johnson
Fattah
Kilpatrick
....along with many of the usual suspects.

These folks really do need to unite and organize some type of caucus or movement to further their causes.

#8  Ted will vote, Ms. Kopechne won't

#7  So both the House and the Senate have passed it - think Bambi will sign?

#6  John QC, all (and I do mean all) the Kennedys have voted for 50 years. This is Massaholia and if every Acorn was eaten by a squirrel ALL the Kennedys would still be voting.

#5  Does this mean that Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck won't be registered to vote 9 gazillion times? And that Ted Kennedy won't be voting?

#4  When the vote came down, Pelosi's name is conspicuously missing. She's not even listed as a "Not Voting".

She'll add her name later when she figures out which way it's going.

#2  Boy, wait'll Nancy Pelosi finds out about this!

#1  Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) offered the Defund-ACORN bill to the Student Loans bill.
